  Areas of Practice

The Koch Law Firm, PA, handles plaintiff-oriented civil litigation and criminal defense cases, as well as other general practice areas and some immigration matters. His 14 year police career gave Reggie an excellent foundation for operating a civil rights practice focusing on the needs of minorities and marginalized groups in our society.

From the beginning of his legal career, Reggie Koch has aspired first and foremost to be a competent trial lawyer. Although it is true that most cases settle before trial, the firm tries to approach each case as if it will be necessary to file a lawsuit and fight to the end. The firm disfavors tort reform, binding arbitration agreements, and other such devices that work to erode the individual right to a trial by jury. Seldom would the firm choose to allow a judge to decide a case if a jury trial is available to the client.

Although a large part of our practice is in employment discrimination, civil rights, and criminal defense, the firm is often called upon to assist with a variety of other claims such as personal injury, divorce, professional responsibility, immigration, and police misconduct claims.

Because Reggie and his staff speak Spanish fluently, the Koch Law Firm, PA, is one of the leading firms in Arkansas protecting the rights and representing the interests of Hispanic persons. At the Koch Law Firm, PA, Spanish speaking clients do not communicate with their attorney and staff through interpreters; instead, they can communicate directly with attorneys and staff in their own language.

Reggie and his staff also network with attorneys abroad to ensure that their clients’ interests and rights are protected internationally as well as here in the United States.

The Koch Law Firm, PA, has a strong focus and excellent track record in plaintiff-oriented civil rights matters, including:

•Police Misconduct
•Wrongful Termination From Employment
•Race, Sex, Age, Pregnancy, and Religious Discrimination
•Sexual Harassment
•Retaliation
•Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
•Disability Discrimination
•LGBTQ Rights (especially transgender issues)

  Education

Attorney Reggie Koch graduated with honors from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with BA degrees in International Studies and Spanish prior to attending law school at the William H. Bowen School of Law. He also studied at the University of Arizona at Tucson and the University of Guadalajara in Jalisco, Mexico. At UALR, he was presented with the Marco Polo Award for Excellence in International Studies.

Aside from his university studies, Reggie graduated with honors from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy, where he was recognized by former President Bill Clinton for achieving the highest academic scores in his class. He also ranked second place in his police academy class for his firearm handling skills and shooting abilities.

  Employment Background

After being raised working in the family construction business, Reggie Koch worked for fourteen years as a police officer in central Arkansas. Additionally, Reggie was licensed for several years as a private investigator.

Reggie’s International Studies degree required an internship with an international company or agency, which he fulfilled by working in 1998 and 2000 with the Secretary of Public Security in Jalisco, Mexico. In this position, he traveled to more than 50 cities in Mexico training police officers in community policing strategies.

In law school, Reggie clerked for prominent law firms in Little Rock, including: Wright, Lindsey & Jennings LLP; Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard, PLLC; John Walker, P.A.; and Harrill & Sutter, PLLC. Clerking for these two defense-oriented firms and two plaintiff-oriented firms gave Reggie the diverse background and solid foundation that he needed to help him succeed at the Koch Law Firm, PA, which he founded in 2005.

Since 2005, Reggie Koch has headed the Koch Law Firm, PA, and worked to serve the people of Arkansas and others with competent, aggressive legal representation.
